Johnson Egu Chukwu
Johnson Egu Chukwu is a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Accountants of Nigeria and Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Lagos and a Masters in Business Administration from the Lagos Business School, Pan Atlantic University, Lagos.
He is the initiator/founder of Cowry Asset Management Limited. Prior to the establishment of Cowry Asset Management Limited, he had been actively involved in the Nigerian capital market and was instrumental to the establishment of one of the most vibrant capital market operators, Guardian Express Trust Limited (later Spring Capital, now Pan Africa Capital) – a subsidiary of Guardian Express Bank Plc, later Spring Bank Plc/Enterprise Bank Limited as the pioneer General Manager/Chief Executive Officer.
He is actively involved in capacity building and development by training financial industry professionals as a facilitator with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), the Financial Institutions Training Centre (FITC) as well as international training platforms.
Aside from his position as the Chief Executive of Cowry Asset Management, He is the Chairman of Standard Alliance Insurance Plc, a high-profile insurance company quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
He was appointed to the Board of the Company in August 2017.
